The Outside Is Inside at Frankie’s Hideaway

Frankie’s Hideaway makes a great home base for exploring Big Bend Country. Big Bend National Park is just a 45-minute drive south; Marfa (home to the Chinati Foundation and numerous art galleries) is less than an hour’s drive to the west; Fort Davis (site of the historic cavalry post) is about the same distance to the northwest; and Alpine, home to Sul Ross State University and numerous shops and restaurants, is just 25 minutes west. Terlingua, the former ghost town on the west side of the national park, is just over an hour’s drive south of Alpine.

These destinations provide a wealth of natural, historical, cultural, and social sites for you to explore. Or, if you prefer, you can simply relax in peaceful Marathon.
